Gyroscope Review is celebrating National Poetry Month with a Poem Renaissance, a review of previously published poems looking for new life and new views. Every day through May 20th, a new poem to fall in love with all over again.
Transitional Objects
by Lizzie Purkis
You’re with me –
clasping my wrists.
I find you
looped in my ears.
You’re slung
around my neck.
I feel you
soft against my chin.
You are held
tight in my hand.
I carry you tucked
under my breast.
I made a cast
of all you touched:
An impression to keep
on my mind.
This poem was published in The Bellowing Ark, in 2004
